Preparation
We recommend using 2 tablespoons (approx. 6 grams) or more of finely ground Guayusa leaves per 8 oz. of water which can be prepared using the follow methods:
Tea Pot โ Add crushed leaves to water. Boil for a few minutes and steep
Drip coffee maker– Grind Guayusa leaves and prepare as you would normally brew your favorite coffee
French Press– Grind Guayusa leaves and prepare as you would normally brew your favorite coffee or tea
Sun Tea – Add ground or whole Guayusa leaves to water in a large glass container and leave in the sun for 4 – 6 hours. Serve hot or cold with lemon or honey
Coconut Sweet Tea– Prepare some brewed tea following one of the recommended methods. Strain the leaves out of the tea, put the tea in a blender with a tablespoon or two of coconut butter, oil or milk. Add some brown sugar, coconut sugar or honey. Blend thoroughly until frothy. This is has been a favorite treat among many Guayusa drinkers
